Rain falls on the harbour, and the Comoros racing game is quick in spite of it. It's a track drawn from the Comoros coastline, tracing Andjazîdja, the island also called Grande Comore: from Baie des Essarts round to the Mozambique Channel, past Panda and Singani into Moroni, then up the coast through Booni and Mitsamiouli to Mtsizambé. That's nine corners over 4.9 km, all of them named for places along the shore.
The Grand Prix of Comoros is a flat marina circuit, with only 10 metres of climb from start to finish.

Around the Comoros track
Moroni's Old Friday Mosque stands on the waterfront, and wooden dhows sit in the harbour beside it. Inland, Karthala volcano rises above the town. Banana plants line the road, and pickups and mopeds are parked along the fences. The banner says Karibu and Bienvenue, the boards read Moroni, and the rain keeps the track wet all the way round.

How to drive the Comoros circuit
This lap is fast. The main straight is 1,640 metres long and ends at Baie des Essarts, turn 1, and even the slowest corner, the Mozambique Channel at turn 2, is taken at 164 km/h. With no tight hairpins to slow things down, the wet surface is the real opponent: smooth inputs, and keep it off the barriers.
