Hokkaido is an island of Japan with a circuit of its own; Japan has its own separate track. This Hokkaido racing game follows a track drawn from Hokkaido's coastline, starting at OshinKoshin-zaki and Rakuyō, sweeping along the Pacific side through Kushiro, Erimo and Muroran, round Uchiura Bay to Hakodate on the Tsugaru Strait, then up the west past Setana and Otaru to Sapporo and the La Pérouse Strait, the water between Hokkaido and Sakhalin.
That's 17 corners in 4.3 km, through a snow forest in the spirit of Niseko, hilly with 48 metres of climb. The Hokkaido Grand Prix is a winter race, and snow keeps falling the whole lap.

Around the Hokkaido track
Mount Yōtei fills the skyline, its cone white with snow. Down by the track, a torii gate and log cabins stand among the trees, and the Sapporo TV Tower rises in the distance. Lavender fields break up the forest, kei cars, ordinary cars and snowmobiles are parked behind the fences, and the welcome banner reads ようこそ. The boards name Niseko, Furano, Asahikawa and Tokachi, and the snow never stops.

How to drive the Hokkaido circuit
The 610-metre main straight ends at OshinKoshin-zaki, the first corner and the best chance to pass. Rakuyō, three corners later, is the slowest at 77 km/h. After that the lap rolls over 48 metres of hills, and in the falling snow the long sweep round the coast needs a light touch.
