This Japan racing game puts the Japanese Grand Prix on Japan itself. The circuit is drawn from the outline of Honshu, so the lap follows the coast: down the Pacific side through Chiba, Kanagawa and Shizuoka, west to Yamaguchi, then back up the Sea of Japan coast past Fukui and the Noto Peninsula. Each of its 14 corners is named after the place on the coast it traces.
It's an old-school layout, hilly with 40 metres of climb, and a nod to Suzuka in how it flows.

Around the Japan track
Mount Fuji sits on the skyline for most of the lap, and the scenery is Japanese all the way round: a five-storey pagoda and a torii gate in the hills, Tokyo Tower in the distance, tea terraces and cherry orchards between the lakes. Kei cars and yellow taxis are parked behind the fences. The lap crosses itself, running under a bridge and later back over it, and the boards along the barriers read Suzuka, Fuji, Motegi and Tokyo.

How to drive the Japan circuit
The main straight is 610 metres long and ends at Aomori, the best place to pass. The slowest corner of the lap is the Tsugaru Strait at 86 km/h, so brake early and get the exit right. Then there's the climb to the hairpin, where the hills start to bite.
