A stadium sits in the middle of this Mexico racing game, and the lap goes right through it. Around that, it's a race track shaped like Mexico, eight corners drawn from the border and coast: the Sonoran Desert at turn 1, the Golfo de California and Baja California with Ensenada, then a long sweep across to Tamaulipas and down the Gulf side to the Bahía de Campeche, the Península de Yucatán and the Sierra Chiapas.
The Mexican Grand Prix is a flat stadium-park layout with only 8 metres of climb, and a nod to the Foro Sol.

Around the Mexico track
El Castillo, the stepped pyramid at Chichén Itzá, rises through the haze. Saguaro cacti stand on the mesa, the Angel of Independence and a colonial church appear among the buildings, and part of the lap runs inside a stadium. Beetles, yellow taxis and buses are parked by the fences. The banner reads 'Bienvenidos a México', and the boards name Mexico City, Guadalajara, Cancún, Oaxaca and Rodríguez.

How to drive the Mexico circuit
The main straight is the longest stretch here at 1,360 metres, ending at the Sonoran Desert, turn 1. Straight after it comes the slowest corner, the Golfo de California, at 61 km/h, so it's a heavy stop and a chance to pass. Later the lap threads through the stadium, flat all the way.
