Papua is the Indonesian side of New Guinea, and this Papua racing game turns it into an 18-corner lap of its own; Indonesia has a separate circuit. Its track drawn from Papua's coastline starts near Merauke in the south, works up the west past Fakfak and Tanjung Tegenarategeh to Sorong and Manokwari, then runs along the north shore to Nabire and Jayapura.
The Papua Grand Prix is a highland jungle lap with 88 metres of climb, laid out in the spirit of the Baliem Valley.

Around the Papua track
Mist hangs over the whole lap. Puncak Jaya rises above it with snow on its summit, and below the road the jungle drops away into valleys, with a waterfall and round honai huts by the track. Pickups and mopeds are parked along the fences, and the crowd waves flags under a Selamat datang banner. The boards read Jayapura, Wamena, Baliem, Sorong and Merauke.

How to drive the Papua circuit
The main straight is 660 metres and brakes into Iakiyu, turn 1. The real test is Tanjung Tegenarategeh, turn 10, at just 58 km/h, the slowest corner here. With 88 metres of climb and the mist cutting the view ahead, the dramatic hills reward patience more than bravery.
