This Portugal racing game is a rollercoaster. It runs on a track drawn from Portugal's outline, beginning at Aveiro and heading north to Viana do Castelo, along the top of the country through Vila Real and Bragança, then down the eastern border past Castelo Branco, Évora and Beja to Faro. It rounds Cabo de São Vicente and climbs the Atlantic side to Setúbal and Lisbon, across 17 corners.

With 75 metres of climb it's a dramatic coastal lap, and a nod to Portimão in its ups and downs.

Around the Portugal track

Belém Tower stands by the water, and the Padrão dos Descobrimentos rises from the riverbank nearby. A yellow Lisbon tram is parked among the cars, and whitewashed towns sit among vineyards and olive groves on the hills. The crowd waves flags under a Bem-vindos a Portugal banner, and the boards along the barriers read Porto, Algarve, Douro, Coimbra, Madeira and Estoril.

How to drive the Portugal circuit

The main straight runs 650 metres into Aveiro, turn 1. Then the lap goes light over three separate crests before a steep plunge at the last corner drops you onto the finish. The slowest corner is Lisboa, turn 16, at 70 km/h, right before that final drop, so the exit there decides your lap time.
