Ten corners and a very long straight define this lap. The Qatar racing game turns the peninsula into a track drawn from Qatar's coastline: from Khawr al ‘Udayd it heads up past Al Wakrah and Umm ar Rawth, crosses to the far side at Dawḩat Zikrīt and Ar Rayyān, and comes round by the Persian Gulf to finish at Al Khawr. It's 4.3 km, nearly all of it flat out.
This is a modern purpose-built circuit, just 10 metres of climb, laid out in the spirit of Losail.

Around the Qatar track
A ring of floodlight towers circles the whole circuit, lighting every metre of tarmac. Beyond them the Doha towers stand behind the Museum of Islamic Art, a dhow sits on the water and dunes roll away from the track. Land Cruisers and SUVs are parked by the fences. The welcome banner is in Arabic, and the boards read Lusail, Al Wakrah, Khor, Dukhan and Doha.

How to drive the Qatar circuit
The main straight is 1,290 metres long and ends at Khawr al ‘Udayd, turn 1, a huge stop from top speed. The slowest corner is Naşlat Buţayn Abrūq, turn 6, at 85 km/h, which is quick for a slowest corner. Flat ground means no crests to hide behind: it's all braking and traction.
