This Tonga racing game is quick and flat, a modern circuit with only 10 metres of climb. The track is drawn from Tonga's coastline, and its corners trace Tongatapu, the main island: from Kolovai Beach and Ha‘atafu in the west, past Kanokupolu to Nuku'alofa, around the Fanga Kakau Lagoon, then east through Makaunga and Fatumu to Hamula. Ten corners, each named after a real place on the shore.

Around the Tonga track
The Ha'amonga 'a Maui trilithon stands by the track, a stone lintel resting on two great uprights. The royal palace sits near the water, blowholes break the rocky shore, and thatched Pacific houses stand among the banana plants. Pickups and mopeds are parked at the fences, the crowd waves flags under a Mālō e lelei banner, and the boards read Nukuʻalofa and Tonga.

How to drive the Tonga circuit
The 1,120-metre main straight runs flat out to Kolovai Beach at turn 1, and the slowest corner follows right behind it: Ha‘atafu, turn 2, at 67 km/h. That pair is where the lap is won or lost. After that the circuit stays flat and open around the lagoon.
