The Tunisia racing game starts inland and finds the sea. The track is drawn from Tunisia's border and coastline: from Tozeur and Gafsa it heads north to Jendouba and Bizerte, along the coast through Tunis to Cap Bon, south past Sousse and Monastir into the Gulf of Gabès, and down through Médenine and Tataouine to El Borma in the far south. There are 17 corners, all named after the places they trace.

A cliff road for most of the way, it rolls gently over 23 metres of climb.

Around the Tunisia track

Two landmarks share the skyline: the Great Mosque of Kairouan and the village of Sidi Bou Said, its houses white with blue doors and shutters. Further round, the Roman amphitheatre at El Jem rises above the olive groves. Courtyard houses line the road, cars and mopeds are parked behind the barriers, and the banner greets you in Arabic and French. The boards read Sfax, Sousse, Djerba, Carthage and Kairouan.

How to drive the Tunisia circuit

The main straight is a short 510 metres, ending at Tozeur, turn 1. Seventeen corners follow over 4.9 km, so rhythm matters more than raw speed. The slowest is Cap Bon at 73 km/h, the turn at the tip of the peninsula, and getting through it cleanly sets up the run south past Sousse.
