Lake park

Prague Castle looks down on the Czechia racing game, a parkland lap round a lake with the track drawn from Czechia's border. It starts at Ústecký, climbs past Liberec into the Sudetes Mountains, crosses Moravia through Olomoucký, Ostrava and Zlínský, then swings back west via České Budějovice to the Böhmerwald and the Erzgebirge. That's 15 corners, every one of them a real place on the border.

The Czech Grand Prix rolls gently through the park, with 26 metres of climb over 4.3 km.

Around the Czechia track

St Vitus Cathedral rises from Prague Castle on the skyline, and the Charles Bridge and the astronomical clock tower stand closer to the track. Wheat fields stretch out beyond the park, a lake sits beside the road, and the buildings are baroque all round. Cars and trams are parked by the fences. The banner says Vítejte, and the boards read Brno, Vltava, Plzeň, Moravia, Bohemia and Prague.

How to drive the Czechia circuit

The 580-metre main straight ends at Ústecký, turn 1, a good place to pass. The lap saves its slowest corner for last: the Erzgebirge, the Ore Mountains, at 79 km/h. Get a clean exit there and you carry it all the way down the straight. In between, the climb is gentle, so the rhythm comes from the corners.
