Eighteen corners, a short straight and mist over the river. The Bangladesh racing game uses a track drawn from Bangladesh's border, starting at Nawabganj, rising north through Rajshahi, Rangpur and Saidpur, crossing to Sylhet, then dropping through Comilla and Chittagong. From there it turns back past Barishal and Dhaka to the Bay of Bengal and Khulna, every corner named for the place it traces.

The Bangladeshi Grand Prix is a riverfront harbour course, almost flat at 8 metres of climb.

Around the Bangladesh track

The National Parliament House, all bold concrete geometry, is the big landmark. Along the river, boats are moored by the bank and coconut palms lean over the water. The Shaheed Minar stands near the track. Rice paddies spread across the flat land, and rickshaws, buses and tuk-tuks are parked by the fences. Mist sits low over the riverfront. A banner reads স্বাগতম, and the boards name Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Padma and Sundarbans.

How to drive the Bangladesh circuit

With only 360 metres of main straight before Nawabganj, the lap is mostly corners. Dhaka, turn 13, is the slowest of the 18, at 62 km/h. The ground is flat, so there's no slope to help with braking, and the mist makes the riverfront corners harder to pick out.
