The India racing game packs a whole subcontinent into 4.3 km. It's a track drawn from India's border and coastline, so the 14 corners read like an atlas: the Gulf of Khambhät and the Kathiawar Peninsula, Bhuj and the Thar Desert, the Siwalik Hills and the Himalayas, then the Ganges Plain, the Sundarbans and the Bay of Bengal, before the Southern Ghats bring you home to the straight.

The Indian Grand Prix is an old-school layout, hilly with 53 metres of climb.

Around the India track

The Taj Mahal is the landmark you'll spot first, its white domes over the river plain. India Gate and a Hindu temple stand along the lap, and elephants wait near the track. Rice paddies and wheat fields fill the open ground, and the trackside is busy: tuk-tuks, painted trucks and buses parked behind the fences. The banner reads स्वागत है · Welcome, and the boards name Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Goa and Buddh.

How to drive the India circuit

From the 570-metre main straight you brake for the Gulf of Khambhät, turn 1, the best place to pass. The slowest corner is the Ganges Plain, turn 11, at 84 km/h, which isn't very slow at all, so the lap flows. The hills add 53 metres of climb along the way.
