Twenty-one corners and almost no rest. This Bhutan racing game uses a track drawn from Bhutan's border, starting at Gasa and Lunana, past Bumthang and Lhuntshi, across Tashi Yangtse and Tashigang, down to Samdrup Jongkhar, then west along the south through Geylegphug, Chhukha and Samtse to finish at Ha. Bhutan sits in the Himalayas, and the lap climbs like it.

The Bhutanese Grand Prix is an alpine mountain course, 4.9 km long under clear skies.

Around the Bhutan track

Paro Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest, clings to a cliff face above the track. Lower down, a dzong fortress guards the valley, a white chorten stands by the road, and strings of prayer flags flutter across the hillside. Rice paddies step down the slopes, Himalayan-style houses fill the villages, and four-by-fours and pickups park by the fences. The banner reads བཀྲ་ཤིས་བདེ་ལེགས, and the boards say Thimphu.
