Hainan is an island of China with a circuit of its own; China has its own separate track. The Hainan racing game follows a track drawn from Hainan's coastline, starting at Xinyi Shequ and running up the Gulf of Tonkin side, along the Qiongzhou Strait, the water between Hainan and the mainland, to Haikou, then down the east coast by Qinglan and round to Sanya. Twenty-one corners fit into its 4.3 km.
The Hainan Grand Prix is a beach corniche in the spirit of Sanya Bay, flat with 8 metres of climb.

Around the Hainan track
The Guanyin of the South Sea, a tall statue standing out in the water, is the landmark you'll keep catching sight of. A junk sits offshore, a pagoda rises among the palms, and the buildings are East Asian in style, with banana plants between them. Mopeds, yellow taxis and cars are parked behind the barriers, the crowd waves flags, and the banner reads 欢迎, welcome. The boards name Haikou, Sanya, Yalong and Wuzhishan.

How to drive the Hainan circuit
The main straight is 460 metres and ends at Xinyi Shequ, turn 1. Halfway round, Bianhaicun at turn 11 is the slowest corner, taken at 77 km/h on the north coast after Haikou. It's flat all the way, so the 21 corners are the whole story: string them together and the lap flows.
