Java is an island of Indonesia with a circuit of its own; Indonesia's separate circuit is drawn from Kalimantan. The Java racing game follows a track drawn from Java's coastline: west from Cilacap through Sukabumi and Cibinua to Banten, along the north coast by Bekasi, Cirebon and Pati to Surabaya, then down to Banyuwangi on the Selat Bali, the strait between Java and Bali, and back by Jember.
It's a volcano road in the spirit of Mount Bromo, 4.9 km long with a dramatic 92 metres of climb.

Around the Java track
Borobudur, the great stepped temple, is the landmark at the heart of the scenery. Mount Bromo's crater stands on the skyline, a Balinese split gate sits by the track, and huts perch among rice terraces on the slopes. Paddies fill the flat ground, mopeds and minibuses are parked by the barriers, and the crowd waves flags under a clear sky. The banner reads Selamat datang; the boards name Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Bromo.

How to drive the Java circuit
The main straight is long, 1,120 metres, and it ends at Cilacap, turn 1. Three corners later comes Cibinua, the slowest at 70 km/h. After that the road climbs the volcano and drops back down, 92 metres of elevation in all, so pace your braking on the way down.
