Modern jungle circuit

Malaysia's circuit comes from across the water. This Malaysia racing game uses a track drawn from Malaysia's outline, but only the eastern part: East Malaysia, the Malaysian side of Borneo, rather than the peninsula. The lap starts at Miri, works through Rumah Haling, Bukit Sebulu and Telaga into Sabah, down past Lahad Datu and Tawau, then back west through Sarawak, the Datu Peninsula, Kuching and Sibu.

The East Malaysia Grand Prix is a modern jungle circuit with 17 wide corners, a nod to Sepang.

Around the Malaysia track

Mount Kinabalu fills the skyline, and the rainforest comes right up to the run-off. A roof shelters the grandstand from the jungle heat. Round the lap you'll pass the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque and a Dayak longhouse, with oil palms planted in rows between them. Cars and mopeds are parked by the fences, the banner reads Selamat datang, and the boards name Sepang, Penang, Langkawi, Melaka and Kuala Lumpur.

How to drive the Malaysia circuit

The main straight is short, 430 metres, and ends at Miri, turn 1. The wide corners that follow let you carry speed, and there's a crest where the car goes light. The slowest corner is the Datu Peninsula at 77 km/h, turn 15, with Kuching and Sibu still to come before the line.
