The Jordan racing game sends you through a canyon of red rock and under a stone arch. It's a track drawn from Jordan's border and coast, nine corners over 4.3 km: from Irbid in the north it heads east through Mafraq, Rujm Khalf and Ar Rīshah, swings back to Amman, then runs south past Ma`an and Jibāl al Khushshah to the Gulf of Aqaba, the lap's only stretch of sea.
The Jordanian Grand Prix is a desert lap in the spirit of Wadi Rum and Petra, with a dramatic 75 metres of climb.

Around the Jordan track
The Treasury at Petra, carved into the rock face, is the landmark here. The lap threads a canyon between tall red cliffs and passes beneath a rock arch. The Roman theatre of Amman stands by the road, camels rest near the barriers, and the land is flat-topped mesas and sand. Land Cruisers are parked along the fences, the banner reads أهلاً وسهلاً, and the boards name Aqaba, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea.

How to drive the Jordan circuit
The 910-metre main straight ends at Irbid, turn 1, the best braking zone on the lap. Amman, turn 5, is the slowest at 85 km/h. Along the way the road plunges down a steep drop and goes light over a crest, and with just nine corners, every one of them counts.
