From the coast at Beirut to the Beqaa and back, the Lebanon racing game is one long mountain climb. It's a track drawn from Lebanon's border and coast: Beirut, Mount Lebanon and North Lebanon first, then a string of hill corners from Hokr ed Dâhri to Râs el Ouichel, down into the Beqaa past Zahlé, and south through An Nabatiyah and Mhaïbib to South Lebanon. Fifteen corners in 4.9 km.

The Lebanese Grand Prix is an alpine lap, dramatic with 120 metres of climb.

Around the Lebanon track

The Temple of Bacchus at Baalbek is the landmark, its great stone columns standing above the valley. A cedar of Lebanon spreads its branches by the road, and the Mohammad Al-Amin mosque marks the city. Vineyards climb the slopes, Mediterranean houses cling to the hillsides, and cars and mopeds are parked along the fences. The banner reads أهلاً وسهلاً, and the boards name Byblos, Tripoli, the Bekaa and the Cedars.
