Around the Namibia track
Sossusvlei's red dunes rise around the lap, and the pale clay pan of Deadvlei, with its dead trees, sits among them. The Christuskirche appears in the scenery, and quiver trees stand on the rocky ground. Village buildings are scattered along the way. Land Cruisers and pickups wait by the fences. The banner reads 'Welkom · Welcome', and the boards name Windhoek, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Etosha and the Namib.

How to drive the Namibia circuit
Eight hundred and thirty metres of straight end at Kavango, turn 1, the obvious place to pass. Karas, turn 5, is the slowest at 85 km/h, in the far south of the lap. With so little elevation it's a lap of long, fast runs and clean braking.
