Around the Ecuador track

Cotopaxi volcano rises over the plateau, and the Middle of the World monument stands near the track. A Galápagos tortoise sits by the roadside. Banana plants grow on the lower ground, the towns are colonial in style, and pickups and buses are parked behind the barriers. The banner says Bienvenidos al Ecuador, and the boards read Guayaquil, Cuenca, Galápagos, Chimborazo and Quito.

How to drive the Ecuador circuit

The main straight runs 1,320 metres and ends at Zamora Chinchipe, turn 1, followed straight away by Zamora. The slowest corner is Guayas at 76 km/h, turn 6. With 196 metres of climb, the road rises and falls hard across the plateau, so your braking points shift with the slope.
