The land of a thousand hills gets a hilly street race. This Rwanda racing game runs on a track drawn from Rwanda's border, so the lap starts at Ruhengeri in the north, swings east through Kakole and the Eastern province, then turns south past Kibungo to Nyanza. From there it heads west to Cyangugu and Bugarama, and climbs the western side back up to Gisenyi, 19 corners in all.

The Rwandan Grand Prix is a downtown street circuit, 3.7 km with 63 metres of climb.

Around the Rwanda track

Mist drifts across the hills and over the downtown streets. The Kigali Convention Centre stands at the top of the view, and a royal palace hut sits by the road. Tea terraces and banana plants cover the slopes, and modern African buildings line the track. Minibuses and mopeds are parked by the fences, a Murakaza neza banner hangs over the crowd, and the boards read Musanze, Huye, Kivu, Rubavu and Virunga.
